✈️💌 Echo’s Postcards from Around the World 💌✈️
One sunny morning, Echo walked into the RV carrying a tiny backpack.
Chad looked up.
“Where are you going?”
Echo smiled.
“I’m taking a vacation.”
“A vacation?!”
gasped Agaricus.
“Yep.”
“I’ve always wanted to see the world.”
Che-Ni-Mon hugged her blanket.
“…By yourself?”
Echo nodded confidently.
“I’ll send postcards.”
Lily stretched from the couch.
“…Bring back snacks.”
Dragon Claw gently lowered his head beside the RV.
“Have fun.”
Mom gave Echo the biggest hug.
“Be safe.”
“And remember…”
“…adventures are always better when you have stories to tell.”
Echo smiled.
“I’ll have plenty.”
She waved goodbye.
“See you soon!”
The RV suddenly felt a little quieter.
🇨🇳 China
Three days later…
Mom opened the mailbox.
“A postcard!”
Everyone gathered around.
On the front…
Echo was smiling from the top of the Great Wall of China.
She was standing proudly with the mountains stretching far into the distance.
On the back it read:
“Hi everyone!
The Great Wall is HUGE! I tried racing to the next tower… and I think the Wall won. I also met lots of friendly people and ate delicious noodles!
See you soon!
—Love, Echo” ❤️
The kittens imagined Echo sprinting all along the Great Wall.
“I bet she tried to race everybody.”
laughed Chad.
🇲🇽 Mexico
A few days later…
Another postcard arrived.
This one showed Echo climbing to the very top of Chichén Itzá.
She stood proudly with one paw raised like she’d conquered an ancient temple.
Her note read:
“Hola!
The pyramids are amazing! The history here is incredible. Don’t worry—I climbed very carefully!
The tacos were delicious too.
—Echo” 🌮
Agaricus smiled.
“I think she enjoyed the tacos just as much as the pyramid.”
“…Probably more.”
said Lily.
🇳🇴 Norway
The next postcard had snow-covered mountains in the background.
Echo stood on a rocky overlook high above a beautiful Norwegian fjord.
Behind her…
A tiny puffin looked very confused.
The postcard read:
“Hello from Norway!
Everything is so beautiful! I climbed up to the overlook and the view made me forget I was tired.
The puffins are funny.
—Echo” 🐧
Dragon Claw smiled.
“I’d like to fly there someday.”
“So would I.”
said Mom.
🇮🇳 India
One final postcard arrived.
The front showed Echo sitting happily in front of the Taj Mahal at sunrise.
She had somehow climbed onto a nearby tree branch to get the perfect view.
The back read:
“Namaste!
This place is peaceful and beautiful. I met wonderful people, watched colorful birds, and learned that every place has its own stories.
I miss everyone.
I’ll be home soon.
—Echo” 🌸
Che-Ni-Mon smiled softly.
“…She misses us.”
“I miss her too.”
said Chad.
🏡 Home Again
A few days later…
The familiar sound of footsteps approached the RV.
The door opened.
“Guess who’s home!”
“ECHO!”
everyone shouted.
The kittens tackled her with hugs.
“You really climbed all those places?”
asked Chad.
Echo laughed.
“I may have climbed a few things I wasn’t supposed to.”
Mom smiled knowingly.
“I’m just glad you came home safely.”
Echo reached into her backpack.
“I brought souvenirs!”
Tiny wooden carvings.
A colorful bracelet.
A smooth stone from Norway.
A little paper dragon from China.
And a tiny handmade elephant from India.
Everyone admired them.
Dragon Claw smiled.
“What was your favorite part?”
Echo looked around the cozy RV.
At Mom.
At Dragon Claw.
At her sisters.
At the two excited kittens.
She smiled warmly.
“Seeing the world was amazing…”
“…but coming home…”
“…was even better.”
Everyone gathered around for one big family hug.
The postcards were carefully placed on the RV’s bulletin board.
Whenever anyone looked at them, they smiled…
Because they remembered that adventures could take you all over the world…
But home was always the best place to return to.
