🐾🙈 Hide-and-Seek in the RV 🙈🐾
One rainy afternoon, the rain gently tapped against the roof of the RV.
Tap… tap… tap…
The cats had finished lunch.
They had finished their naps.
They had already played pirates.
They had already played charades.
For a few quiet moments…
Everyone simply looked at one another.
Then Chad suddenly jumped onto the couch.
“I KNOW!”
“Let’s play hide-and-seek!”
Agaricus’ ears perked up.
“Ooooh!”
Echo grinned.
“I’m impossible to find.”
Che-Ni-Mon hugged her blanket.
“…I don’t know…”
“What if nobody finds me?”
Mom smiled.
“Then you’ll win.”
Che-Ni-Mon’s eyes lit up.
“…Oh.”
“…I like this game.”
Lily stretched.
“…Fine.”
“But if I fall asleep…”
“…I still count as hiding.”
Dragon Claw chuckled from outside the RV.
“I’ll be the seeker first.”
He closed his giant eyes.
“One…”
“Two…”
“Three…”
The cats scattered in every direction.
🐱 Chad’s Hiding Spot
Dragon Claw opened one eye.
“…Ready or not…”
“…here I come.”
The first thing he noticed…
Was a fluffy orange tail sticking out from behind the tiny kitchen curtain.
“Chad…”
“…your whole body is behind the curtain.”
“…Except your tail.”
Chad looked behind himself.
“…Oops.”
🪽 Agaricus’ Hiding Spot
Dragon Claw continued searching.
“Hmmm…”
“I wonder where Agaricus is.”
A tiny giggle came from inside an empty laundry basket.
Dragon Claw slowly lifted the lid.
Agaricus looked up.
“…I forgot baskets have holes.”
Mom laughed.
“We could hear you giggling.”
⚔️ Echo’s Hiding Spot
Echo proudly hid…
Behind the dining room chair.
Unfortunately…
Only her face was hidden.
Everything else…
Including her wagging tail…
Was completely visible.
Dragon Claw blinked.
“…Echo?”
Echo looked around.
“How did you find me so fast?”
Mom pointed.
“…You’re standing behind half a chair.”
“Oh.”
🧸 Che-Ni-Mon’s Hiding Spot
Dragon Claw looked everywhere.
“No Che-Ni-Mon…”
“Hmm…”
Then he noticed…
A blanket…
Walking across the RV.
“…Che-Ni-Mon?”
The blanket froze.
“…No?”
came a tiny voice.
Everyone burst into laughter.
“I forgot my paws were showing…”
she admitted.
😴 Lily’s Hiding Spot
Now only Lily remained.
Dragon Claw searched the kitchen.
Nothing.
The bathroom.
Nothing.
Under the table.
Nothing.
Mom smiled.
“I wonder where she could be.”
Just then…
A soft little snore drifted through the RV.
Dragon Claw looked toward the couch.
There was Lily.
Curled up.
Fast asleep.
Without even trying…
She had hidden underneath a pile of pillows.
Only the tip of one ear could be seen.
Dragon Claw smiled.
“…I almost missed her.”
Mom gently scratched Lily’s head.
“You almost won.”
Lily opened one sleepy eye.
“…Did I?”
“You were the hardest to find.”
“…Excellent.”
She immediately fell asleep again.
Mom’s Turn
Now it was Mom’s turn to hide.
The cats counted together.
“One…”
“Two…”
“Three…”
“…Twenty!”
The search began.
“Mom?”
called Chad.
No answer.
They searched the bedroom.
Nothing.
The bathroom.
Nothing.
Under the blankets.
Nothing.
Then Agaricus stopped.
“…Guys…”
“…Why are there two pairs of shoes by the coat rack?”
Everyone looked.
One pair belonged to Mom.
The other…
Was also Mom’s.
She slowly peeked out from behind the hanging jackets.
“…You found me.”
she laughed.
Echo smiled.
“The shoes gave you away!”
“I knew I should’ve taken them off.”
Mom giggled.
One Last Round
Before the game ended…
Dragon Claw had one more idea.
“My turn to hide.”
The cats blinked.
“…You’re bigger than the RV.”
said Chad.
Dragon Claw smiled.
“Exactly.”
He closed the RV window.
The kittens looked around.
“Where did he go?”
Silence.
Then…
A giant dragon tail slowly slid past the back window.
Everyone laughed so hard they could barely stand.
“Dragon Claw!”
“Your tail!”
Dragon Claw laughed too.
“I suppose…”
“…I’m not very good at hiding.”
As the rain continued falling outside…
The whole family curled up together inside the warm RV.
They laughed about the terrible hiding spots.
The giggles echoed through every little corner of their cozy home.
And everyone agreed…
Hide-and-seek was much more fun when nobody was very good at it.
