🎲🐱 Monopoly Night at the RV 🐱🎲
One rainy evening, the RV Guardians couldn’t go outside.
The rain tapped gently against the roof.
The wind whistled outside.
And everyone was just a little bit bored.
Chad sighed dramatically.
“We’ve played pirates.”
“We’ve built forts.”
“We’ve wrestled.”
“What do we do now?”
Mom smiled.
She reached into a cabinet and pulled out a colorful box.
“How about…”
“…Monopoly?”
The cats gathered around the table.
Even Dragon Claw leaned in from outside the RV.
He was much too big to fit inside, so he rested his giant head beside the open door while one enormous claw carefully reached inside to move his game piece.
“I’ve never played before,” Dragon Claw admitted.
“Neither have we!”
said Chad.
“Perfect!”
said Agaricus.
Mom explained the rules.
Mostly.
Chad understood about twelve percent.
Dragon Claw understood about fifteen percent.
Che-Ni-Mon was already worried.
Echo was quietly studying the board.
Lily had already found the most comfortable chair.
The game began.
Chad bought almost everything he landed on.
“Do you know what you’re doing?”
asked Agaricus.
“No.”
“Excellent strategy.”
Dragon Claw kept buying railroads because…
“…they look cool.”
Nobody argued with that.
Agaricus carefully counted every dollar.
Planned every move.
Calculated every trade.
Echo quietly rolled the dice.
Bought properties.
Collected rent.
Never celebrated.
Never complained.
She simply played.
Meanwhile…
Che-Ni-Mon landed in jail.
“Oh.”
she said.
“I guess I’m in jail.”
A few turns later she rolled doubles.
“You can leave now.”
said Chad.
Che-Ni-Mon looked around at the expensive properties covering the board.
“…do I have to?”
Everyone blinked.
“It’s actually kind of nice in here.”
“You don’t have to pay anybody while you’re in jail.”
She curled up comfortably on the Jail corner.
“I think I’ll stay.”
The others couldn’t stop laughing.
Somehow…
Every few turns…
Che-Ni-Mon found herself right back in jail.
Eventually she started waving happily whenever she returned.
“I’m home!”
Dragon Claw smiled.
“I’ve never seen someone so excited to go to jail.”
Across the board, Lily quietly played her turns.
She never made big trades.
Never celebrated.
Never complained.
Never really looked interested.
She simply rolled.
Collected rent.
Bought a property.
Went back to relaxing.
Hours later…
Agaricus checked the scores.
“Lily…”
“What?”
“You’re in second place.”
“I am?”
“You always are.”
“Hm.”
Lily shrugged.
“Neat.”
She went right back to relaxing.
The game continued late into the evening.
Dragon Claw laughed every time he landed on one of Chad’s tiny properties.
“I owe… two dollars?”
“YES!”
cheered Chad.
“I’M RICH!”
Dragon Claw happily paid.
“I like this game.”
Eventually…
There were only two players left with serious money.
Echo.
And Lily.
Everyone gathered around.
Echo quietly rolled the dice.
Collected one last payment.
Looked down at the board.
“I think that’s game.”
Agaricus counted everything twice.
Then smiled.
“Echo wins.”
Everyone cheered.
“WAY TO GO!”
shouted Chad.
Dragon Claw accidentally clapped so hard the entire RV shook.
Echo simply nodded.
“Oh.”
“Cool.”
She stood up.
Stretched.
Then suddenly—
ZOOM!
Echo sprinted across the RV.
Nobody knew why.
She just…
Ran.
Her tail swept across the table.
WHOOOSH!
Monopoly money exploded into the air.
Game pieces launched everywhere.
Tiny houses flew.
Hotels bounced across the floor.
Even the bowl of tuna snacks flipped into the air.
Silence.
Every cat slowly looked upward.
Dollar bills floated gently through the RV.
Tuna treats spun through the air like tiny comets.
Then…
Every instinct took over.
“CAT MODE!”
shouted Chad.
Five…
Four…
Three…
Two…
One…
POUNCE!
Chad leaped for a flying tuna treat.
Agaricus dove after spinning Monopoly money.
Che-Ni-Mon forgot she had been safely sitting in jail and launched after a bouncing game piece.
Dragon Claw carefully tried catching everything with his enormous paws.
Though every time he caught one thing…
Three more bounced away.
Echo, who had accidentally started the whole mess…
Immediately joined in.
She pounced after the racecar token.
Caught it.
Rolled onto her back.
Then chased a flying dollar bill.
The RV became absolute kitten chaos.
The only cat who didn’t move…
Was Lily.
She watched money rain from the ceiling.
Watched Chad slide across the floor.
Watched Dragon Claw accidentally wear a Monopoly hotel on his nose.
Watched Echo chase the tiny top hat.
Then quietly reached over.
Picked up one tuna treat that landed beside her.
“…I win.”
she said.
Mom walked into the room.
She looked at the Monopoly board.
Or what was left of it.
Money everywhere.
Hotels everywhere.
Cats everywhere.
One enormous dragon trying very hard not to step on tiny game pieces.
Mom smiled.
“So…”
she laughed.
“Who won Monopoly?”
Echo looked up from beneath the couch.
Still holding the racecar token.
“I think I did.”
she said.
Then immediately chased another tuna treat.
Mom couldn’t help but laugh.
Some games are remembered because someone wins.
This one was remembered because nobody cared who won…
Until the money and tuna started flying.
And somehow…
That became everyone’s favorite part.
