❄️🐉 The RV Guardians and Their First Snow ❄️🐱
One cozy afternoon, Chad and Agaricus were watching videos on Mom’s little tablet.
One video caught everyone’s attention.
White mountains.
Soft falling flakes.
Children laughing.
Snowball fights.
Snow angels.
Snowmen.
The kittens stared with wide eyes.
“It’s white!”
said Chad.
“It looks fluffy.”
said Agaricus.
Echo tilted her head.
“What’s it taste like?”
Che-Ni-Mon looked concerned.
“…Is it cold?”
Mom smiled.
“Very.”
The kittens all looked at one another.
“We have to see it.”
Later that evening, Dragon Claw returned to the RV.
His giant wings stretched across the evening sky.
The whole RV gently shook as he landed beside it.
“Dragon Claw!”
the kittens cheered.
“We have a mission!”
Dragon Claw smiled.
“I like missions.”
Chad climbed onto a rock.
“We must journey to…”
He pointed dramatically toward the mountains.
“…the Rockies!”
Dragon Claw blinked.
“Why?”
“So we can meet…”
“…snow.”
Dragon Claw couldn’t help but laugh.
“I think we can do that.”
The next morning, Dragon Claw gently lifted the RV into the sky.
Below them stretched forests…
Rivers…
Tiny towns…
Until finally…
The Rocky Mountains appeared.
Covered in brilliant white.
The kittens pressed against every window.
“It’s everywhere!”
Dragon Claw carefully landed the RV beside a quiet snowy meadow.
The door opened.
Cold air rushed inside.
The kittens stepped out.
Crunch.
Crunch.
Crunch.
Their tiny paws sank into the snow.
Nobody moved.
Then Chad looked at Agaricus.
“…Ready?”
“Ready.”
The two kittens exploded into the snow.
Echo shot past them.
ZOOM!
Nobody had ever seen Echo run so fast.
She carved giant loops through the snow.
Leaped over little snowbanks.
Slid on the ice.
Rolled down a hill.
Then sprinted back up it just because she could.
“I LOVE SNOW!”
she shouted.
Meanwhile…
Che-Ni-Mon cautiously stepped outside.
One paw.
Then another.
She immediately shivered.
“It’s cold!”
“It is!”
laughed Chad.
“I don’t know if I like it!”
A snowflake landed on Che-Ni-Mon’s nose.
She blinked.
“…Okay.”
“…I kind of like it.”
Soon she was chasing everyone through the snow.
Even if she kept stopping every few minutes to warm up her paws.
Meanwhile, Lily stepped outside…
Looked around…
Took one careful step into the snow.
“…No.”
She calmly turned around.
Walked back inside the RV.
Curled up beside the big window.
And watched the snowy world with a warm blanket around her.
“This…”
she sighed happily,
“…is perfect.”
Outside…
The kittens had discovered snow was useful.
Very useful.
They rolled giant snowballs together.
Higher.
Bigger.
Rounder.
Dragon Claw carefully helped by rolling one with his enormous nose.
Soon…
A giant snow cat stood proudly in the meadow.
It had pebble eyes.
A stick tail.
Tiny ears.
And a fish-shaped smile.
“It’s beautiful.”
said Agaricus.
“It’s majestic.”
said Chad.
Echo immediately climbed on its head.
Next came snow angels.
The kittens flopped backward.
Waving tiny paws.
Kicking tiny feet.
Dragon Claw watched curiously.
“What are you doing?”
“Making snow angels!”
Dragon Claw carefully laid down.
His wings spread wide.
When he stood up…
He had accidentally made the biggest snow angel in Rocky Mountain history.
The kittens stared.
“Whoa…”
Then Chad smiled mischievously.
“I have an idea.”
“Oh no.”
said Agaricus.
“Oh yes.”
Chad packed a little snowball.
And gently tossed it.
PLOP!
It hit Echo.
Echo slowly turned around.
“…You didn’t.”
“I absolutely did.”
The first snowball flew.
Then another.
Then twenty.
The Great Snowball Battle had begun.
Echo darted through the battlefield like lightning.
Agaricus built tiny snow forts.
Dragon Claw laughed as harmless snowballs bounced off his giant scales.
Che-Ni-Mon tried hiding behind Dragon Claw…
Until Chad convinced her to throw just one snowball.
She missed.
By a lot.
Somehow…
It still hit Chad.
“I MEANT TO DO THAT!”
she cheered.
Even Dragon Claw joined in.
Using one enormous wing to send a soft flurry of snow over everyone.
The meadow echoed with laughter.
Inside the RV…
Lily watched everything through the window.
She smiled.
“…They’re ridiculous.”
She pulled her blanket a little tighter.
“…And they’re having the time of their lives.”
As the sun began to set…
The snowball fight came to an end.
Everyone was exhausted.
Their paws were tired.
Their whiskers were snowy.
Their noses were cold.
They slowly climbed back into the warm RV.
The most wonderful smell greeted them.
Mom smiled from the little kitchen.
“I thought you might be chilly.”
Tiny bowls of warm milk waited for the kittens.
Dragon Claw had an enormous bucket of warm milk.
Beside it sat steaming mugs of gentle catnip tea.
The kittens wrapped their paws around the warm cups.
“Best…”
said Chad.
“…day…”
said Agaricus.
“…ever.”
finished Echo.
Che-Ni-Mon was already half asleep.
“I survived snow…”
she mumbled proudly.
“I knew you would.”
Mom smiled.
Lily sipped her tea.
“I enjoyed the snow.”
Everyone looked at her.
“You never went outside.”
said Chad.
“I know.”
“It was wonderful.”
The kittens laughed.
Outside…
Dragon Claw gently spread his enormous wings.
The RV lifted quietly into the evening sky.
Inside…
Warm milk.
Soft blankets.
Gentle purring.
The quiet hum of the RV.
One by one…
The kittens drifted to sleep.
Echo curled beside the window.
Che-Ni-Mon hugged her blanket.
Chad and Agaricus dreamed about even bigger snow forts.
Lily was already asleep before they had taken off.
Mom smiled as she looked around the cozy RV.
Outside, Dragon Claw carried his little family home beneath a sky full of stars.
And somewhere below…
Their giant snow cat stood proudly in the Rocky Mountains…
Waiting for winter’s next visitors.
