🌙💙 The Day Mom Felt Sick 💙🌙
One quiet morning, something felt different in the RV.
Mom didn’t get up early.
Mom didn’t sing in the kitchen.
Mom didn’t open the blinds and say, “Good morning, babies.”
Instead, Mom stayed curled up in bed.
Her face was warm.
Her body was tired.
Her stomach felt awful.
And all she could whisper was,
“I don’t feel good today.”
The RV Guardians immediately knew this was serious.
Chad’s ears went up.
Agaricus Bisporus sat very still.
Echo climbed gently onto the bed.
Che-Ni-Mon gasped.
Lily opened both eyes.
Mom was sick.
Very sick.
Chad rushed away first.
“I know what helps!”
A few seconds later, he returned proudly carrying a piece of tuna.
Mom opened one tired eye.
“Oh, sweetheart… no tuna right now.”
Chad froze.
No tuna?
This was worse than he thought.
Agaricus hurried over with catnip.
“Maybe this will help.”
Mom gave a weak little smile.
“That’s very thoughtful, baby… but I think that’s more for you.”
Agaricus looked at the catnip.
Then at Mom.
Then quietly set it beside her anyway.
Just in case.
Echo climbed closer and tucked herself gently beside Mom.
She didn’t zoom.
She didn’t pounce.
She didn’t play.
She simply purred.
Soft.
Steady.
Warm.
Mom reached out and touched Echo’s fur.
“That helps,” she whispered.
Che-Ni-Mon came next.
She dragged one blanket.
Then another.
Then another.
Soon Mom was surrounded by the softest blanket pile in the entire RV.
Che-Ni-Mon carefully tucked one near Mom’s feet.
“Blankets help everything,” she said.
Mom smiled.
“They really do.”
Lily watched from the edge of the bed.
Then she stood, walked carefully over, and curled up near Mom’s side.
No fuss.
No drama.
Just quiet love.
The kittens looked around.
Tuna didn’t help.
Catnip didn’t help.
Blankets helped a little.
Cuddles helped a lot.
Finally, Mom opened her eyes and whispered,
“I just want you all close.”
So they came close.
Chad curled near her arm.
Agaricus tucked herself beside him.
Echo stayed near Mom’s hand.
Che-Ni-Mon nestled into the blankets.
Lily rested calmly at her side.
Mom didn’t need adventures.
She didn’t need noise.
She didn’t need anything big.
She just needed her little family within reach.
Soon the RV grew quiet.
The kind of quiet that feels safe.
Mom’s breathing slowed.
Her hand rested gently on the kittens.
And with all five cats close enough to touch, Mom finally fell asleep.
Safe.
Loved.
Not alone.
