🕷️💙 Webster’s Brave Little Adventure 💙🕷️
The morning sun shined gently through the RV windows.
Everyone was busy.
Mom was making breakfast.
Dragon Claw rested outside beside the RV.
Inside…
Hidden high in his tiny corner near the ceiling…
A little spider named Webster watched.
He had lived in the RV for quite a while now.
Ever since Mom had gently carried him inside instead of leaving him outside in the rain.
She had whispered,
“You’re safe here.”
Webster had never forgotten those words.
He looked around the cozy RV.
“…Maybe…”
he whispered to himself,
“…today I’ll explore.”
His tiny legs trembled.
“But not too much.”
“And definitely not where anyone can see me.”
So…
Very carefully…
Webster climbed down from his little corner.
🐱 Chad
The first cat Webster visited was Chad.
Chad was sitting on the floor surrounded by pirate hats…
Cardboard treasure…
And a wooden spoon he insisted was a pirate sword.
“Arrr!”
Chad shouted dramatically.
“I’ll find the One Piece!”
Webster smiled.
“He makes every ordinary day…”
“…feel like an adventure.”
Just then…
Chad looked toward Webster’s wall.
Webster quickly hid behind a picture frame.
“Whew…”
“I almost got caught.”
🐱 Agaricus Bisporus
Next…
Webster quietly climbed along a bookshelf.
Agaricus sat nearby reading one of Mom’s animal books.
“So that’s why butterflies migrate…”
she whispered.
Every few pages…
She smiled.
Every few pages…
She learned something new.
Webster smiled.
“She loves discovering things.”
“I think…”
“…she’d probably like spiders too.”
He blushed.
“…Maybe.”
🐱 Echo
A sudden blur zoomed past.
WHOOSH!
Echo raced through the RV.
Jumped onto the couch.
Balanced across the table.
Spun around.
And somehow…
Ended up exactly where she started.
“I meant to do that.”
she grinned.
Webster blinked.
“I don’t think…”
“…even Echo knows where Echo is going.”
🐱 Che-Ni-Mon
Webster carefully climbed near the blanket basket.
There…
He found Che-Ni-Mon.
She was wrapped snugly inside three blankets.
Only her little nose peeked out.
She looked around carefully…
Making sure everything was peaceful.
Then smiled softly.
“What a nice quiet morning.”
Webster smiled.
“She likes feeling safe…”
“…just like me.”
🐱 Lily
Finally…
Webster reached the living room.
Lily was asleep.
Of course she was.
She hadn’t moved in nearly an hour.
Webster slowly climbed onto the back of the couch.
“…Is she awake?”
Silence.
“…Maybe not.”
Just then…
Without opening her eyes…
Lily quietly said,
“…You’re making surprisingly tiny footsteps.”
Webster froze.
Every one of his eight little legs stopped moving.
“…Can…”
he whispered,
“…can she see me?”
Lily slowly opened one eye.
She looked toward the ceiling instead of at Webster.
Then yawned.
“…Probably just the house settling.”
She closed her eye again.
Webster let out the tiniest sigh of relief.
“That…”
“…was close.”
🐉 Dragon Claw
Feeling much braver now…
Webster peeked through the RV window.
Dragon Claw lay peacefully outside.
Watching fluffy clouds drift across the sky.
A butterfly landed gently on his nose.
Dragon Claw crossed his eyes trying to see it.
“…Hello, little butterfly.”
he smiled.
The butterfly flew away.
Dragon Claw smiled anyway.
Webster couldn’t help smiling too.
“He really is as gentle as everyone says.”
💙 Mom
As evening arrived…
Webster climbed back toward his little corner.
Mom looked up.
Not directly at Webster.
Just toward the ceiling.
She smiled.
“I hope our little spider is having a good day.”
“I haven’t seen any new webs where they shouldn’t be.”
“So I think he’s doing wonderfully.”
Webster’s tiny heart felt warm.
She didn’t know he had explored the whole RV.
She didn’t know he had almost been seen.
She didn’t know he had spent the day learning about everyone.
But somehow…
She still made him feel safe.
Webster looked down at the family below.
Chad was laughing.
Agaricus was reading.
Echo was zooming around.
Che-Ni-Mon was tucked into her blankets.
Lily was napping.
Dragon Claw was humming outside.
Mom smiled at everyone.
Webster quietly whispered,
“Thank you…”
“…for giving a little spider…”
“…a place where he doesn’t have to be afraid.”
Outside…
The stars began appearing one by one.
Inside…
The little RV felt warmer than ever.
And tucked safely into his tiny corner…
Webster drifted happily to sleep…
Knowing he had found something even better than the perfect web.
He had found a home.
